Cecilie & Samar

We matched on Hinge in early April 2022. After chatting for a few weeks — while Samar did Interrail through Europe and Cecilie painted the cabin over Easter — we finally met for our first date.

On 23 April 2022, we met over espresso martinis at Svanen cocktail bar on Karl Johan. It didn’t take long to realize we’d met someone we really clicked with, and after that evening we were pretty much inseparable.

We became an official couple on 31 May, and by 1 August we had moved in together. After two years in our Karl Johan apartment — about 700 meters from where we first met — we bought our first place together in Bjørvika in the summer of 2024, where we still live.

During a cycling trip around Lake Constance (which turned out to be a lot more than just cycling), Samar proposed at sunset by Lake Lugano, right on the border between Switzerland and Italy. Cecilie of course said a tearful yes — and also yes to a lifetime of adventures.

We’re really looking forward to celebrating the wedding with all of you, and to the years ahead.
